Add Captions to an AI Rap Video (and Fix the Names)

Plenty of people scroll with the sound off, so a rap without captions loses them in the first second. The MP4 you download has sound but no captions and comes with no lyrics sheet, so captions are added afterwards: TikTok, Instagram and CapCut can transcribe the audio, then you correct names and lines by hand before posting.

The steps come from each app’s own help pages. CapCut’s help notes that background noise lowers accuracy, and a rap over a beat is harder to transcribe than plain speech, so plan on fixing a few lines.

What the download contains

Your file
FormatAn MP4 with sound, named hotel-lobby-video.mp4
Length5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds on the Hotel Lobby set
CaptionsNone burned in
LyricsNo lyrics sheet, no separate audio file
Source of the wordsAI rap: written by the model from your topic. Your song: your own recording. Hotel Lobby track: the original verse.

Your topic is a brief, not the lyrics. The model writes its own lines about it, so captions must be taken from what is actually heard.

Three free auto-caption routes

AppWhere to tapNote
TikTokAfter uploading, tap Captions on the preview screen, or More options, then Select video language, on the post screen (TikTok Support). You can edit captions after posting: tap the caption, then Edit captions.
Instagram ReelsBefore you share, tap More options and switch on Enable closed captions (Instagram Help).Generated from the speech; a separate toggle translates them.
CapCutIn the editor, open Captions, then Auto Captions, choose the language and tap Generate (CapCut Help).Captions are burned into the export, so they show on any app.

Correct names and bars by ear

  1. Turn the volume up and play one line at a time.
  2. Fix every name first; auto-captions love turning names into ordinary words.
  3. Type what the rap really says, not what you wished it said. Captions that disagree with the audio look broken.
  4. Break long lines so each caption fits on two short rows.
  5. Check slang and rhymes last, then watch the whole thing once more.

If the rap itself mispronounces a name, captions cannot fix the audio. Create a new video, or record the words yourself and upload them as Your song.

Keep captions off the faces

  • In the Hotel Lobby booth the faces sit in the upper half with the mic hanging between them, so captions belong in the lower third.
  • TikTok and Reels stack buttons on the right and text along the bottom. Leave a margin and check the in-app preview.
  • Use one style for both performers, or a color per person in a rap battle.

Final check before posting

  • Play the export start to finish: timing, spelling, nothing over a face.
  • Hold on to the uncaptioned MP4; it stays in My videos until you delete it.
  • On TikTok, also switch on the AI-generated label (TikTok).

FAQ

How do I add captions to an AI rap video on my phone for free?

Download the MP4, then use the built-in auto-captions in TikTok or Instagram, or CapCut’s Auto Captions, and correct the text by ear before posting.

Does the AI rap come with a lyrics file?

No. There is no lyrics sheet or separate audio; the words exist only in the MP4’s sound.

Can I paste my topic in as the captions?

No. The topic only tells the model what to rap about; it writes its own lines, so captions must follow the audio.

Which caption app handles rap best?

All three transcribe the audio automatically and let you edit the result. Rap over a beat is hard for any of them, so expect to correct some lines whichever you pick.

The rap says a name wrong. Can I fix it?

Only in the captions. To change what is heard, make a new video, or record the words and upload them as Your song.
