Hotel Lobby AI: 480p, 720p or 1080p for Your Screen?

Choose by where people will watch it: 480p for group chats and first tries, 720p for Instagram Reels, 1080p for a TV or party screen. On Wan 3.0, 12 seconds cost 6 credits at 480p, 10 at 720p and 20 at 1080p. Resolution sets how sharp the file is; it does not make faces closer to your photos.

Start with the screen, then the budget. The tables below give the credits for every length and what each posting app asks for in its own help pages.

What each app asks for

AppIts own guidanceSetting that fits
Instagram ReelsAt least 720 pixels and 30 frames per second (Instagram Help)720p or above
TikTokNo resolution rule found for regular posts; the developer upload guide allows 360 to 4,096 pixels and 23 to 60 fps (TikTok for Developers)Any setting
YouTube ShortsVertical or square, up to three minutes (YouTube Help)Any setting

Frame rate depends on the model. If Reels quality matters, check the frame rate in your phone’s file info before posting; an editor such as CapCut can re-export at 30 fps.

Things resolution does not touch

  • Likeness. A face that drifts at 480p is not rescued by 1080p; better photos are the first fix (best photos).
  • The moves, the camera and the lip-sync.
  • Refunds: a failed render is refunded at any setting.

A simple way to decide

  • Phone screens and chats: 480p, 6 credits for 12 seconds.
  • Instagram Reels: 720p, 10 credits for 12 seconds.
  • A TV, projector or party screen: 1080p, 20 credits for 12 seconds.
  • Unsure the photos work? Try 480p first, then make the keeper at a higher setting.

FAQ

Which resolution should I pick for a Hotel Lobby AI video I will post on Reels?

720p. Instagram asks for at least 720 pixels, and on Wan 3.0 it costs 10 credits for 12 seconds.

Is 1080p worth the extra credits?

Only for a big screen. On a phone, 720p already meets the Reels minimum at 10 credits instead of 20 for 12 seconds.

Will 1080p make the faces look more like us?

No. Resolution sets sharpness; likeness depends mainly on the photos and varies between renders.

Why is my 480p vertical video only 480 pixels wide?

In a vertical video the 480 refers to the short side, which is the width.

Does a higher resolution take longer?

Yes. Expect the top of the about 5 to 15 minutes range on Wan 3.0 at 1080p.
