Two People, One Song: Taking Turns on a Lip-Sync Duet

Can two people take turns lip-syncing your own song in one Hotel Lobby video? No: with an uploaded song, the left person lip-syncs and the right person hypes, just like the original clip. The workaround is two videos. Render the first section with one of you on the left, render the next section with the photos swapped, and join the clips in any editor. Each video is charged separately; 12 seconds at 480p is 6 credits.

This describes Hotel Lobby Video (hotel-lobby-video.com) on its default model, Wan 3.0, as of October 10, 2026. Both rap, where the pair trades lines inside one video, works only with an AI-written rap, never with an uploaded song.

A single photo of both of you follows the same rule: whoever stands on the left side of the picture is the singer.

Your song is preselected. Add both photos, upload the track and slide the orange frame to the first section; the button shows the credits.

Giving each person a section, step by step

  1. Choose two sections of the song, one per person. A section lasts as long as the video: 5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds in the Hotel Lobby booth.
  2. Upload a photo of each person, with the first singer on the left.
  3. In Video & sound, pick Your song and upload the file (MP3, WAV or M4A, any length). Slide the orange frame onto the first section and create.
  4. Once that video is done, slide the orange frame to the second section and tap “Hand the mic to the other one” below the player. The photos switch sides and a second video starts with the new section. Swapping the photos by hand and pressing Create does the same.
  5. Download both MP4s and place them back to back in CapCut, iMovie or another editor.

Two videos cost double: 12 credits for a pair of 12-second videos at 480p. Each one is charged when you create it, and a failed render is refunded.

Both of you on the same line

If you each want to sing the same line, keep the orange frame in place and tap “Hand the mic to the other one” after the first render. You end up with two takes of one section, each with a different person in front, ready to post as a pair or as a before-and-after.

Limits to plan around

  • Each video starts the routine from the top, so the join between the two sections is visible. Cutting on a strong beat hides it best.
  • Choose sections where the vocal is clear, since the front person lip-syncs to that voice.
  • Faces, moves and mouth shapes vary between renders, so the two videos will not match perfectly.
  • The two-video route relies only on features the generator already has; it is a workaround, not a built-in duet mode.

When an AI rap duet is the better pick

If the back-and-forth matters more than your own recording, switch to a Seedance model and leave Both rap on (it is on by default). The AI writes a verse about your topic and the two of you trade lines inside a single video. On Seedance 2.0 Mini at 720p, a 12-second AI rap is 10 credits, whichever stage you pick. FAQ

Can my friend and I both lip-sync my song in a single video?

No. With your own song only the left person lip-syncs and the right person hypes. Render two videos and swap the photos so each of you gets a section.

How do I make the person on the right the singer?

Move that photo to the left, or tap “Hand the mic to the other one” after a render: the photos switch sides and a new video begins.

Is there a length limit for each person’s part?

Each part is as long as the video: 5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds in the Hotel Lobby booth. The uploaded song can be any length; drag the orange frame to choose the section.

Can we use a voice memo from my phone instead of a finished song?

Yes. Upload the recording as Your song (MP3, WAV or M4A) and the left person lip-syncs to the section you select.

How much does a two-part duet cost?

Each video is paid separately. 12 seconds at 480p is 6 credits, so two parts come to 12. The smallest pack is 10 credits for $9.99.
