People who recognise the rappers but not the song call the trend Migos AI. Others say the Hotel Lobby trend or the AI rap duo trend. They all point at one clip: Quavo and Takeoff, two thirds of Migos, performing “Hotel Lobby” as Unc & Phew on A COLORS SHOW in June 2022. The remakes broke out on TikTok, Instagram and X in September 2026.
Each Migos AI clip keeps the set and swaps the cast. The orange wall, the lone microphone on its cable and the choreography stay put, while the performers become whoever agreed to be filmed: two best friends, a married couple, a dad and his daughter, a grandmother and her grandson. One person delivers the verse into the mic; the other points, laughs and dances.
Hotel Lobby Video renders that clip from two still photos. It does not clone anyone’s voice. The lead lip-syncs to the built-in Hotel Lobby track, to audio you upload, or, on a Seedance model, to a brand-new AI rap about a topic you choose. - Quavo (Quavious Marshall) co-founded Migos and is one of the two performers in the Hotel Lobby set.
- Takeoff (Kirsnick Ball) was Quavo’s nephew and his partner in Unc & Phew. He was shot and killed in Houston on November 1, 2022.
- Offset (Kiari Cephus) completed the trio as a longtime friend, not a relative, and does not appear in the Hotel Lobby performance.
